How it works
FilmSuggest uses a complex algorithm to pick through literally millions of records in our database to generate a relatively small and unique suggestion list for the user. Unlike other media suggestion services like Pandora.com or iTunes' Genius, FilmSuggest takes into account both the individual user's preferences and all other users' preferences in the system. FilmSuggest uses a specialized form of Artificial Intelligence (AI) called an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to quickly and effeciently deliver accurate suggestions to the user.

An artificial neural network is a mathematical model based on biological neural networks. It consists of an interconnected group of artificial neurons and processes information using a connectionist approach to computation. FilmSuggest's neural network is an adaptive system that changes its structure based on additional external data from its users. In this way, FilmSuggest adapts and grows to more accurately suggest movies the more the system is used. In a very real sense, FilmSuggest's neural network mimics the human brain in its ability to respond to new information and experience.
